Marathons

The Flora London Marathon was run today and no world record was broken, despite the beliefs of Paul Tergat, the current world record holder. The race was won by Lel Martin or Kenya in a time of 2:07:26; Tergat took 8th place with a time of 2:11:38. Great Britain's Paula Radcliffe won the women's race in a time of 2:17:42 redeeming herself in her countrymen's eyes from her performance at the 2004 Olympics; she finished 19th overall.
Tomorrow brings us the 2005 Boston Marathon at noon (11:31 AM for the women's), but it doesn't seem as though it will be as exciting as today's race.
